Question no. 9: What can we do in our homes to nurture and care for Creation?

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Even the modest venture of publishing Why Should We Care About Planet Earth, Our Home involves a number of minds, hearts and hands. A brief acknowledgement is a small, but sincere gesture of appreciation for those who have inspired, collaborated, and supported this effort.

First, we owe a debt of gratitude to the Pastor of Presentation Parish, Rev. Robert B. Stagg whose own personal efforts toward making our community an eco-friendly parish also provided the encouragement and support for the publication of this booklet.

The combined efforts, stimulus, and inspiration offered by the Presentation St. Francis Ministry, The GreenFaith Certification Team, and the Presentation Justice and Peace Ministry of our parish furnished invaluable background context for many of the thoughts and ideas expressed herein. One person most deserving of special thanks is Denny Foley whose inspiring leadership and commitment to the Green Faith Certification process gave all of us the needed example and impetus to push on, no matter what the challenges

Special mention and thanks are owed to Mary Ann Jeselson for her invaluable suggestions in helping to give the text a “readable face” and to Susan Wright for her skills in the tedious art of formatting, editing, and patiently tending to the final stages of this manuscript.

In particular. OI would like to express personal thanks to my two committee members, Cheryl Morrissey, ever supportive and encouraging and Kay Furlani, who offered important editorial insights and wrote responses to two of the questions in this booklet. For whatever may be lacking in this modest work, I take full responsibility.

To all who have welcomed me, given me vitality, inspiration and wisdom in my retirement years at Presentation Parish, I am supremely grateful

Fr. Edward J Ciuba
